Having so many live singers and entertainers can be a little tiring sometimes so every now and again we do like to have a quieter day and recharge our batteries, but that doesn't mean we do nothing. There is always something to do at Polventon and today our Nelly enjoyed doing some stencilling. We have a huge array of different arts and crafts, puzzles and board games, books, movies and music, there is always something to keep us entertained and our minds stimulated even when

For a couple of weeks every summer, we welcome students in from the local schools to see what working in social care is really like. This summer, we have had three lovely students, two from Mullion School and one from Helston, who have been the most wonderful helpers. They really got stuck in supporting with the activities, creating quiz's, hosting craft sessions, supporting with hydration needs and blending in with the staffing team amazingly. Pete has been in again, we just cannot get enough of his silky tones and enjoy the memories his music brings back to us :-)

What more can I say other than this was a fun activity that kept us busy for a while :-)

What a wonderful turn out we had today at our annual garden party. We had numerous stalls selling wonderful cakes, trinkets and goodies, live music from Duane AJ from the XFactor, raffle, bouncy castle and so much more...we even had the lovely reception team from the GP surgery, our local PC Julie and the lead singer of the Skata-Likes all join us along with lots of friends and families from the community.

We had the lovely Pete in to sing for us again. Wow, his soothing tone is just something else :-)

We had a fabulous visit from the amazing Duane AJ Music yesterday..a visit we always look forward to ...We will be having our Garden Party soon everyone will be able to Enjoy Duane who will be singing for us on the day ..save the day SATURDAY 4TH JULY....

Michelle Cooper AKA Shelle Belle Crafts has been at it again creating a wonderful array of arts and crafts with the residents. This weeks focus has been on sweet reefs, and they look yummy :-)

While half of the staffing Team have been getting Pretty Muddy in the Muddy Race for Life and raising over £600 for cancer research (Massive congratulations to those who took part), the residents have been loving the Cornish chorus' of Proper Job Disco and creating some wonderful dried flower art.

The merry month of May has been a hoot so far and we are only a week in.... We absolutely love the fun vibe that Night Chasers Disco and Karaoke bring to the home, singing old classics that get us all singing along, dotty arts, making sun catcher with stained glass art, visits from Helston Museum with their memory boxes...Head over to our Facebook Page to see more photos of the awesome activities and entertainment!

Things are so busy over at Polventon that we don't get as much chance to post as regularly as we once did. We have had Paul Chinn in to sing, Tracey from the Methodist Church, The soulful sounds of Pete, and soooo many craft activities. What an effort, Sam and Kylie just ran the London Landmarks Half Marathon with the all the money raised being ring fenced for Cornwall. Well done ladies!
