Polventon House is a long established business providing residential care in St. Keverne and aims to provide high standards of care and accommodation for older people.

 

Anne and Des Underwood became the registered providers of Polventon House on the 28th April, 2006. On the 6th June 2024, Greg Underwood (Director) and Samantha Street (Director) who had been overseeing the running of the home for many years, decided to support and assist the well deserved retirement of Des and Anne after their many years of providing a wonderful service to the home. By taking over as the new providers, Greg and Sam have been able to ensure a smooth and seamless transition of ownership, providing a continuation of the exceptionally high care standards, ethics and culture that have always been at the forefront of Polventon's values. 

 

Sarah Symonds (Registered Manager) and Lowenna Roberts (Deputy Manager) lead the team of Senior Carers, Care Assistants, Activity Coordinators, Cooks, Domestic Staff, Maintenance and Garden Staff, Administrators and Drivers. Each and every single individual being a vital part of our long established and hard working team, who we are very lucky to have the pleasure of working alongside and supporting the wonderful people that reside at Polventon House. 

 

We are committed to ensuring that all concerned with the care of our residents are equipped with on-going training and support, seeking advice, introducing appropriate aids and equipment and being aware of higher dependency levels to ensure that each individual resident at Polventon House receives care and support that is personalised to them and delivered in a way that they wish to be cared for.  

 

Whilst we recognise that our resident’s needs are ever changing our aim is to provide them with a comfortable, relaxed, homely and secure environment in which their care and well-being is of prime importance. Our philosophy of care revolves around the rights of our residents.

 

We continue to value each individual and the care team strives to maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all residents with a warm, loving and caring atmosphere. Individual wishes and needs whether medical, psychological, emotional, cultural, spiritual or social are respected, as is the following core values of care which are fundamental to the philosophy of our home.

We believe that residential care is an opportunity to continue maximising life and make even more memories.
